Hometown: Seattle

Birthday: November 28

Training/education: Sarah Lawrence College, Université Paul Valery, Certifications from Prana Flow Vinyasa, Laughing Lotus, and Yoga Shanti Certifications.

Mentor: Colleen Saidman, Rodney Yee, Genny Kapuler

Favorite prop: A good, thick yoga brick.

Primary practice: Alignment Inspired Vinyasa, Iyengar, Kundalini Kriyas, and Pranayama.

Teaching style: it's like that thing where you teach side angle pose but then you talk about the inner and outer knee, and then you mention a chakra and/or a quote from your favorite 80s film, 9 to 5.

What poses do you always teach: Anjaneyasana, Vasistasana variations, I love puttting twists and forward folds together.

Favorite pose? Kukutasana just for the name alone.

Least favorite pose? Kurmasana is like "the struggle is real" embodied in a pose

NYC neighborhood: Tribeca or FiDi (so calm and quiet on the weekend)

Favorite fruit: Mango or raspberries

Favorite tunes for yoga: Classic rock, Down tempo electronica, Classic R & B, and it's Britney, bitch.

Most embarrassing yoga moment?: Twice! Twice this has happened! Demoing open angle pose without knowing a hole was in my crotch until it was too late.

Interests outside of yoga: cooking. I'm a personal chef part time. Movies of the 70s and 80s. Flaubert and other French things. I love wine!

Special talent: I read the tarot cards and i know what you did last summer.

Hunter or gatherer: I go both ways.

What word do you always spell wrong: There and their. Not original.

Alien life?: Most definitely.

Anything else you want to add? I believe hatha yoga can be sporty and spicy but we need to develop focus and some peace of mind otherwise it's just calisthenics with exotic names. Also, I am not interested in yoga as a performance or anything that is overbranded. Authenticity is honorable.
